Pyogenic Abscess
A pyogenic abscess is a localized collection of pus that forms in response to infection, typically caused by bacteria. This condition occurs when the body's immune system attempts to fight off an infection, leading to the accumulation of white blood cells, dead tissue, and bacteria in a specific area. Common sites for abscess formation include the skin, liver, and lungs.
Symptoms of a pyogenic abscess may include swelling, redness, warmth, and pain at the affected site. In some cases, fever and chills can also occur. Treatment often involves drainage of the abscess and antibiotics to eliminate the underlying infection, ensuring proper healing and recovery.
