Pudu
The Pudu is a small species of deer native to the temperate rainforests of southern Chile and Argentina. It is one of the smallest deer species in the world, standing only about 12 to 16 inches tall at the shoulder. Pudu have a compact body, short legs, and a reddish-brown coat, which helps them blend into their forest habitat.
These deer are primarily solitary and are most active during dawn and dusk. They feed on a variety of vegetation, including leaves, fruits, and grasses. Due to habitat loss and hunting, the Pudu is considered vulnerable, and conservation efforts are in place to protect their populations.
