Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, is located on the northern coast of the state, along the Arctic Ocean. It is known primarily for its oil production, being home to the largest oil field in North America, the Prudhoe Bay Oil Field. The area is remote and has a harsh Arctic climate, with long, cold winters and short summers.
The town of Prudhoe Bay is primarily a service hub for oil workers and is not a traditional residential community. Access to the area is limited, with most visitors arriving by plane or via the Dalton Highway, which connects it to other parts of Alaska.
