Prokaryoten
Prokaryoten, or prokaryotes, are single-celled organisms that lack a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. They are classified into two main groups: Bacteria and Archaea. Prokaryotes are known for their simple structure and can be found in various environments, from soil to extreme conditions like hot springs.
These organisms reproduce asexually through a process called binary fission, where one cell divides into two identical cells. Prokaryotes play essential roles in ecosystems, including nutrient cycling and decomposition, and some can even perform photosynthesis, contributing to the Earth's oxygen supply.
