Project for the New American Century
The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a think tank founded in 1997 that aimed to promote American global leadership. It advocated for a strong military presence and the spread of democracy, emphasizing the importance of U.S. power in shaping international relations. PNAC's members included influential figures, some of whom later held key positions in the George W. Bush administration.
PNAC gained attention for its support of military intervention, particularly in the wake of the September 11 attacks. The organization argued that the U.S. should take proactive measures to address threats, which contributed to the rationale for the Iraq War in 2003.
