Project Apollo
Project Apollo was a series of space missions conducted by NASA from 1961 to 1972, aimed at landing humans on the Moon and bringing them safely back to Earth. The most famous mission, Apollo 11, successfully landed astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface in July 1969, making Armstrong the first person to walk on the Moon.
The program included a total of 17 missions, with six successful lunar landings. Apollo missions advanced space exploration technology and provided valuable scientific data about the Moon, contributing to our understanding of the solar system.
