Principality of Wallachia
The Principality of Wallachia was a historical region located in what is now southern Romania. It emerged in the 14th century and became known for its strategic position between the Ottoman Empire and Hungary. Wallachia was ruled by a series of voivodes, or princes, who played a significant role in the region's politics and culture.
Wallachia is often associated with the legendary figure Vlad the Impaler, who ruled in the 15th century and inspired the character of Dracula. The principality eventually united with Moldavia and later became part of modern Romania in the 19th century, contributing to the country's rich history and cultural heritage.
