Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire
The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881. It was created through the amalgamation of several Yorkshire-based units and served in various conflicts, including both World Wars. The regiment was known for its distinctive cap badge featuring the Prince of Wales's feathers.
In 2006, the regiment was merged into the Yorkshire Regiment, which now carries on its legacy. The regiment's history reflects the military traditions of Yorkshire and its contributions to the British Army over more than a century.
