Prince Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland
Prince Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1771-1851), was a member of the British royal family and the son of King George III and Queen Charlotte. He became the Duke of Cumberland in 1799 and was known for his military service and political involvement, particularly in the House of Lords.
Ernest Augustus was also the last King of Hanover after the kingdom was absorbed into the German Empire in 1866. He had a significant influence on the royal family and was involved in various charitable activities throughout his life, leaving a legacy that extended beyond his royal duties.
