President of Ukraine
The President of Ukraine is the head of state and the highest official in the country. This position is responsible for representing Ukraine both domestically and internationally, overseeing the executive branch of government, and ensuring the enforcement of laws. The President is elected by popular vote for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
The President also plays a crucial role in shaping national policy, appointing key government officials, and commanding the armed forces. The current President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, took office in May 2019 and has focused on issues such as corruption, economic reform, and the ongoing conflict with Russia.
