President of Poland
The President of Poland is the head of state and serves as the highest representative of the country. Elected for a five-year term, the president has the authority to sign laws, appoint the prime minister, and represent Poland in international affairs. The role is largely ceremonial, but the president also has significant powers in times of crisis.
The president is elected by popular vote and can serve a maximum of two terms. The current president, as of October 2023, is Andrzej Duda, who has been in office since 2015. The presidency is based in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
