President of Hungary
The President of Hungary is the head of state and serves as a symbol of national unity. This position is largely ceremonial, with the president representing Hungary in diplomatic matters and performing various formal duties. The president is elected by the National Assembly for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two terms.
The president has the authority to appoint the Prime Minister and other officials, but most executive powers are held by the government. The role includes signing laws, calling elections, and granting pardons, ensuring the constitution is upheld in the country.
