Precession
Precession is the gradual change in the orientation of an object's rotational axis. For example, the Earth's axis wobbles slightly over time, completing a full cycle approximately every 26,000 years. This movement is caused by gravitational forces exerted by the Sun and Moon on the Earth's equatorial bulge.
This phenomenon affects the position of celestial bodies in the sky. As the Earth's axis precesses, the position of the North Star changes over millennia. Currently, Polaris is the North Star, but in the future, other stars will take its place due to this slow, cyclical motion.
