Prairie Vole
The Prairie Vole is a small rodent native to North America, primarily found in grasslands and open fields. They have a stocky body, short legs, and a short tail, typically measuring about 7 to 9 inches long. Their fur is usually brown or gray, providing camouflage in their natural habitat.
Prairie voles are known for their social behavior and strong pair bonds. Unlike many other rodent species, they often mate for life and share parenting duties. They primarily feed on grasses, seeds, and roots, making them an important part of their ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal.
