Practical Shooting
Practical Shooting is a dynamic shooting sport that emphasizes accuracy, speed, and the ability to engage targets in various scenarios. Competitors use handguns, rifles, or shotguns to complete courses that simulate real-life situations, such as self-defense or law enforcement scenarios.
Participants are scored based on their time to complete the course and the accuracy of their shots. The sport encourages the development of shooting skills, including target acquisition, movement, and decision-making under pressure. IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) are two popular organizations that govern practical shooting competitions.
