Postmillennialism
Postmillennialism is a Christian eschatological view that interprets the Bible as teaching that Christ will return after a "millennium," a period of peace and righteousness on Earth. This belief emphasizes the role of the Church in bringing about this golden age through the spread of the Gospel and social reform, suggesting that human efforts can lead to a more just and moral society.
In contrast to premillennialism, which anticipates Christ's return before the millennium, postmillennialism holds that the world will gradually improve. Proponents believe that as more people embrace Christianity, societal conditions will enhance, ultimately leading to a time when Christ will return to a transformed world.
