Posadas
Posadas is a traditional Mexican celebration that takes place during the nine days leading up to Christmas. It commemorates the journey of Mary and Joseph as they searched for shelter in Bethlehem. Each night, participants reenact this journey by visiting homes, singing carols, and asking for lodging.
The festivities typically include prayers, songs, and the breaking of a piñata, filled with treats. Families and friends gather to share food and celebrate together, creating a sense of community. Posadas is an important cultural event that highlights the spirit of hospitality and the joy of the holiday season.
