Portuguese Parliament
The Portuguese Parliament, known as the Assembleia da República, is the legislative body of Portugal. It is responsible for making laws, approving the budget, and overseeing the government. The Parliament consists of 230 members, called deputies, who are elected every four years.
The Parliament meets in the Palácio de São Bento in Lisbon. It operates under a system of proportional representation, allowing various political parties to participate. The President of the Assembly leads the sessions, ensuring that debates and discussions are conducted fairly and efficiently.
