The Portuguese Man O' War is a marine organism often mistaken for a jellyfish, but it is actually a colonial organism made up of four specialized polyps. These polyps work together to perform different functions, such as capturing prey, floating, and reproduction. Its distinctive gas-filled bladder allows it to float on the surface of the ocean.
This creature is known for its long, tentacle-like structures that can extend up to 30 meters (about 100 feet) and contain stinging cells called nematocysts. While its sting can be painful to humans, the Portuguese Man O' War is primarily found in warm ocean waters and plays a role in the marine ecosystem.
