Portuguese Assembly of the Republic
The Portuguese Assembly of the Republic is the national parliament of Portugal. It is a unicameral body, meaning it has only one chamber, and is responsible for making laws, approving the budget, and overseeing the government. The Assembly consists of 230 members, known as deputies, who are elected by the public every four years.
The Assembly meets in the Palácio de São Bento in Lisbon. It plays a crucial role in the democratic process, allowing citizens to participate in governance through their elected representatives. The Assembly also debates important national issues and holds the government accountable for its actions.
