Population I stars
Population I stars are relatively young stars that are found primarily in the Milky Way galaxy's disk and spiral arms. They are rich in heavy elements, which are produced in previous generations of stars. This abundance of metals allows them to form planets and supports the development of life.
These stars typically have a higher luminosity and are often associated with open star clusters and nebulae. Examples of Population I stars include the Sun and many of the bright stars visible in the night sky. Their formation is closely linked to the ongoing processes of star formation in the galaxy.
