Ponte 25 de Abril
The Ponte 25 de Abril is a suspension bridge located in Lisbon, Portugal. It spans the Tagus River and connects the capital city to the municipality of Almada. Opened in 1966, the bridge is known for its striking red color and impressive length of 2,277 meters, making it one of the longest bridges in Europe.
Originally named the Ponte Salazar after the Portuguese dictator, it was renamed in honor of the Carnation Revolution, which took place on April 25, 1974. The bridge is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco due to its similar design and color.
