Pomodoro timers
A Pomodoro timer is a time management tool designed to enhance productivity. It works by breaking work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes long, called "Pomodoros," followed by a short break of about 5 minutes. After completing four Pomodoros, a longer break of 15-30 minutes is taken. This method helps maintain focus and reduces mental fatigue.
The technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The name "Pomodoro" comes from the Italian word for tomato, inspired by the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a student. This simple yet effective approach encourages sustained concentration and efficient work habits.
