Polyomino
A polyomino is a geometric figure formed by joining one or more equal squares edge to edge. The simplest polyomino is a monomino, which consists of a single square. As more squares are added, they create different shapes, such as dominoes (two squares), trominoes (three squares), and tetrominoes (four squares). Polyominoes can be arranged in various configurations, leading to a wide variety of patterns.
Polyominoes are often used in recreational mathematics and puzzles, such as the popular game Tetris, which features tetrominoes. They also have applications in computer science, particularly in algorithms related to tiling and combinatorial problems.
