Polycephaly
Polycephaly is a rare condition characterized by the presence of more than one head on a single body. This phenomenon can occur in various animals, including turtles, snakes, and cats. The additional head(s) may have their own brain and can sometimes exhibit independent movement, although they share the same body and vital organs.
The condition arises during embryonic development when an embryo partially splits but does not fully separate, leading to the formation of two or more heads. Polycephaly is often associated with other health complications, and affected animals may face challenges in survival and mobility due to the complexities of coordinating multiple heads.
