Political System of Hungary
The political system of Hungary is a parliamentary republic, where the Prime Minister is the head of government. The National Assembly, consisting of 199 members, is responsible for making laws and is elected every four years. The President, who serves a largely ceremonial role, is elected by the Assembly.
Hungary operates under a multi-party system, with several political parties competing for power. The most significant party is Fidesz, which has been in power since 2010. The judiciary is independent, ensuring a separation of powers among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government.
