Polish Workers' Party
The Polish Workers' Party (PPR) was a communist political party in Poland, founded in 1942 during World War II. It aimed to represent the working class and promote socialist ideals. The PPR played a significant role in the post-war establishment of a communist government in Poland, aligning itself with the Soviet Union.
In 1948, the PPR merged with the Polish Socialist Party to form the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR), which became the dominant political force in Poland for several decades. The PZPR governed until the fall of communism in 1989, marking a significant shift in Polish politics and society.
