Poetry Book Society
The Poetry Book Society is an organization dedicated to promoting poetry and supporting poets. Founded in 1953 by the poet T.S. Eliot, it aims to connect readers with contemporary poetry through curated selections. Members receive a quarterly selection of poetry books, chosen by a panel of experts, which helps to introduce them to new voices and styles.
In addition to book selections, the Poetry Book Society hosts events, readings, and discussions to foster a community around poetry. It also provides resources for educators and promotes poetry in schools, encouraging a love for this literary form among younger audiences.
