Pleiades Star Cluster
The Pleiades Star Cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, is a group of stars located in the constellation Taurus. It is one of the nearest star clusters to Earth, approximately 444 light-years away. The cluster contains over 1,000 stars, but only a few are visible to the naked eye, with the brightest being Alcyone.
The Pleiades is an open star cluster, meaning its stars are loosely bound by gravity and can disperse over time. It is believed to have formed around 100 million years ago and is often studied by astronomers to understand stellar evolution and the life cycle of stars.
