Planarians
Planarians are flatworms belonging to the class Turbellaria. They are known for their simple body structure, which includes a soft, flat body and a distinct head with two eye spots. Planarians are primarily found in freshwater environments, such as ponds and streams, and they feed on small organisms and decaying matter.
One of the most fascinating features of planarians is their remarkable ability to regenerate. If a planarian is cut into pieces, each piece can grow into a complete worm. This regenerative capability has made planarians a subject of scientific research, particularly in the fields of regenerative medicine and developmental biology.
