Pitz Glacier
Pitz Glacier is located in the Ötztal Alps of Austria, near the border with Italy. It is one of the largest glaciers in the region, covering an area of approximately 12 square kilometers. The glacier is situated at an elevation of around 3,000 meters and is a popular destination for skiing and mountaineering.
The glacier feeds into the Pitztal Valley and is part of the larger Pitztal ski area. Due to climate change, Pitz Glacier has been experiencing significant melting, which has raised concerns about its long-term stability and the impact on local ecosystems.
