Pitru Paksha
Pitru Paksha is a 16-day Hindu period dedicated to honoring and remembering ancestors. It typically falls in the lunar month of Bhadrapada, usually in September or October. During this time, families perform rituals called Shraddha to pay homage to their deceased relatives, seeking blessings for their souls.
The rituals often include offerings of food, water, and prayers, which are believed to help the ancestors attain peace in the afterlife. Many people also visit sacred places or perform charitable acts during Pitru Paksha to express gratitude and respect for their lineage.
