Pinta (Ship)
The Pinta was one of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus during his first voyage to the Americas in 1492. It was a caravel, a type of ship known for its speed and agility, which made it suitable for exploration. The Pinta was commanded by Martín Alonso Pinzón and played a crucial role in the discovery of the New World.
Alongside the Nina and the Santa Maria, the Pinta set sail from Spain in August 1492. After a long journey across the Atlantic Ocean, the ships reached the Bahamas in October of the same year, marking a significant moment in maritime history.
