Pink-backed Pelican
The Pink-backed Pelican is a large waterbird found primarily in parts of Africa and Asia. It is easily recognizable by its pale pink feathers, especially during the breeding season, and its long, curved bill. These pelicans typically inhabit lakes, rivers, and coastal areas, where they can find fish, their main food source.
These birds are social creatures, often seen in groups while foraging or nesting. They build their nests on the ground or in trees, laying two to four eggs. The Pink-backed Pelican plays an important role in its ecosystem by helping to maintain fish populations in their habitats.
