Pilling
Pilling refers to the formation of small, fuzzy balls of fiber on the surface of fabrics, often caused by friction during wear or washing. This phenomenon occurs when loose fibers in the material become tangled and clump together, creating unsightly bumps. Pilling is common in textiles made from natural fibers like wool and synthetic fibers like polyester.
To reduce pilling, it's advisable to wash garments inside out, use gentle cycles, and avoid high heat when drying. Additionally, using a fabric shaver can help remove pills and restore the fabric's appearance. Regular maintenance can prolong the life of clothing and keep it looking fresh.
