Phleboviruses
Phleboviruses are a genus of viruses belonging to the family Phenuiviridae. They are primarily transmitted by arthropods, particularly mosquitoes and sandflies, and can infect various animal species, including humans. Some well-known members of this genus include the Rift Valley fever virus and the Bunyamwera virus.
These viruses can cause a range of diseases, often leading to symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and muscle pain. In some cases, infections can result in more severe complications, including hemorrhagic fever. Research continues to better understand their transmission, pathology, and potential treatments.
