Phil Ochs
Phil Ochs was an American singer-songwriter known for his poignant and politically charged folk music during the 1960s. Born on December 19, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, he became a prominent figure in the folk music revival, using his songs to address social issues such as war, civil rights, and injustice.
Ochs was influenced by artists like Bob Dylan and often performed at protests and rallies. His notable albums include "I Ain't Marching Anymore" and "Pleasures of the Harbor." Despite his success, he struggled with personal issues and tragically took his own life on April 9, 1976.
