Phage Display
Phage Display is a laboratory technique used to study interactions between proteins, peptides, and other molecules. It involves attaching a specific protein or peptide to the surface of a bacteriophage, a virus that infects bacteria. This allows researchers to screen large libraries of proteins to identify those that bind to a target molecule, such as a receptor or antibody.
The process begins by creating a library of phages that each display a different protein or peptide. When these phages are exposed to a target, only those that bind will be retained. The bound phages can then be isolated and analyzed, making Phage Display a powerful tool in drug discovery and vaccine development.
