Petenwell Dam
Petenwell Dam is a hydroelectric dam located on the Wisconsin River in Adams County, Wisconsin. Completed in 1970, it is the second-largest dam in the state and plays a crucial role in generating electricity and managing water flow in the river system.
The dam creates the Petenwell Flowage, a large reservoir that offers recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, and swimming. It is also important for flood control and provides water for local ecosystems, supporting both wildlife and plant life in the surrounding area.
