Permic Languages
Permic languages are a branch of the Uralic language family, primarily spoken in the northern regions of Russia. This group includes two main languages: Komi and Udmurt. These languages are characterized by their unique phonetic and grammatical features, which distinguish them from other Uralic languages.
The Komi language is spoken mainly in the Komi Republic, while Udmurt is prevalent in the Udmurt Republic. Both languages have several dialects and are used in various cultural contexts, including literature and education. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote these languages amid the dominance of Russian.
