Periscope
Periscope was a live video streaming app developed by Kayvon Beykpour and Joe Bernstein, launched in 2015. It allowed users to broadcast and watch live video from their smartphones, connecting people around the world in real-time. The app gained popularity for its user-friendly interface and integration with Twitter, enabling easy sharing of live streams.
In 2020, Periscope was officially discontinued by Twitter, which had acquired the app prior to its launch. Users were encouraged to transition to other platforms for live streaming, as the app's features were gradually phased out. Despite its closure, Periscope played a significant role in popularizing live video content online.
