People's Republic of Kampuchea
The People's Republic of Kampuchea was a government established in Cambodia from 1979 to 1989, following the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. It was formed with the support of Vietnam after the Khmer Rouge, led by Pol Pot, was ousted. The new government aimed to rebuild the country and address the devastation caused by the Khmer Rouge's brutal policies.
During its existence, the People's Republic of Kampuchea faced challenges, including ongoing conflict with remnants of the Khmer Rouge and political instability. The government was recognized by some countries, while others supported the Khmer Rouge. Eventually, the People's Republic of Kampuchea transitioned into the current Kingdom of Cambodia in 1993.
