Pendle Witch Trials
The Pendle Witch Trials were a series of hearings held in 1612 in Lancashire, England, where twelve people were accused of witchcraft. The trials were part of a larger wave of witch hunts in Europe during the early 17th century. The most notable case involved a group of ten individuals from the Pendle area, who were charged with the murder of ten people through witchcraft.
The trials culminated in a court session at Lancaster Castle, where evidence was presented, including testimonies and confessions. Ultimately, ten of the accused were found guilty, and two were acquitted. The Pendle Witch Trials remain one of the most famous witchcraft cases in English history.
