The Penang Strait is a narrow body of water located between the island of Penang and the mainland of Malaysia. It connects the Andaman Sea to the Malacca Strait, making it an important route for maritime trade and transportation in Southeast Asia. The strait is approximately 14 kilometers wide at its narrowest point.
