Pelister Lakes
Pelister Lakes are a group of glacial lakes located in the Pelister National Park in North Macedonia. Nestled at the foot of Mount Pelister, these lakes are known for their stunning natural beauty and crystal-clear waters. The area is a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts, offering picturesque views and diverse flora and fauna.
The lakes are situated at varying altitudes, with the largest being known as Big Lake and the smaller ones referred to as Small Lakes. These lakes typically remain frozen during the winter months, creating a serene winter landscape. The region is also home to unique wildlife, including the endangered Pelister pine tree.
