Pelican Nebula
The Pelican Nebula is a large emission nebula located in the constellation Cygnus. It is part of a larger region known as the North America Nebula and is approximately 1,800 light-years away from Earth. The nebula gets its name from its shape, which resembles a pelican in flight, and is primarily composed of hydrogen gas and dust.
Within the Pelican Nebula, new stars are being formed, making it a site of active stellar nurseries. The bright areas are regions where young stars illuminate the surrounding gas, while darker regions are dense clouds of dust that block light. This nebula is a popular target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers.
