Pectoral Fin
The pectoral fin is a type of fin found on the sides of fish and some other aquatic animals. These fins are primarily used for steering, balance, and stabilization while swimming. In many species, pectoral fins can also assist in maneuvering and stopping, allowing the animal to navigate through water effectively.
In addition to fish, pectoral fins are present in some marine mammals, such as dolphins and whales. In these animals, the structure and function of pectoral fins can vary significantly, often adapted for different swimming styles and environments.
