Paul Zindel
Paul Zindel was an American playwright, author, and educator, born on May 15, 1936, in Staten Island, New York. He is best known for his works that often explore themes of family dynamics, adolescence, and the struggles of growing up. His most famous play, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1971.
In addition to his plays, Zindel wrote numerous novels, many of which are aimed at young adults. His books, such as My Darling, My Hamburger and The Pigman, have been widely read in schools and are celebrated for their relatable characters and poignant storytelling. Zindel passed away on March 27, 2013.
