Paul Bernardo
Paul Bernardo is a Canadian serial killer and rapist, known for his involvement in the brutal crimes committed in the early 1990s. He, along with his then-wife Karla Homolka, was responsible for the sexual assault and murder of several young women, including Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French. Bernardo was arrested in 1993 and later convicted of multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
In 1995, Bernardo was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. His case drew significant media attention and raised discussions about issues such as the justice system, victim rights, and the role of plea deals, particularly concerning Karla Homolka, who received a controversial deal in exchange for her testimony against him.
