Patua
Patua is a traditional form of folk art originating from the Indian state of West Bengal. It is characterized by vibrant paintings that often tell stories or depict scenes from mythology, history, and daily life. The artists, known as Patuas, use natural pigments and create their works on cloth or paper, often accompanied by songs that narrate the themes of the paintings.
This art form has deep cultural roots and is often associated with the Patua community, who have historically traveled to perform and share their art. In recent years, efforts have been made to preserve and promote Patua as a significant part of India's cultural heritage.
